Abstract

This article investigates how technical normativity reshapes journalism and, consequently, the processes through which political-juridical power is legitimized. Drawing on the theoretical contributions of Schmitt, Stiegler, di Robilant, it seeks to argue that journalistic truth cannot be understood as a neutral representation of reality, but rather as the outcome of the interplay between legal, communicative, and technological normative regimes. The analysis explores robot journalism and the persuasive authority of LLMs, examining how computational infrastructures shape regimes of visibility, credibility and public opinion while producing an epistemic illusion of objectivity. Against this backdrop, the article advances immersive journalism as a potential alternative for challenging the abstractions introduced by algorithmic mediation. Through the case study of Clouds Over Sidra, it seeks to show how embodied and experiential forms of storytelling may reintroduce corporeality and empathy into the formation of public opinion, resisting algorithmic reductionism and restoring interpretative plurality within the public sphere.
