The journal "Studi Politici" publishes original research with a broad, interdisciplinary perspective, aiming to disseminate cross-cutting knowledge and foster dialogue among scholars from different backgrounds and disciplines. The journal was founded on the recognition of the interdependence of knowledge and focuses more on the objectives and findings of research in the field of Political Studies—broadly understood—rather than on strict adherence to the methodological or content-specific aspects of individual academic disciplines.
Since its establishment in 2022 by a highly diverse group of scholars, the journal has facilitated exchanges among researchers in history (including modern and contemporary history, history of international relations, political thought, and political institutions), sociology, philosophy, and geography, all of whom share a common interest in Political Studies. Their goal is to offer readers original studies from a multidisciplinary perspective. Special attention is given to contributions from young scholars, whose research highlights both past and ongoing transformations in the field of Political Studies and their interdisciplinary nature.
"Studi Politici" is structured into the following sections: History and Politics; Society, Institutions and Socio-political Changes; Cross-thematic Issues; and a Thematic Forum. The "Studi Politici Library" also features reviews, notes, and discussions of recently published books.
All submitted articles undergo a double-blind peer review process.
"Studi Politici" is a biannual open-access journal.
Peer Review Process
"Studi Politici" uses a double-blind reviewing procedure.
The peer-review process contributes to the development and expansion of a coherent and rigorous scientific network and offer a guarantee of the quality of the work of the authors and of the institutions that support them.
The procedure adopted by "Studi Politici" guarantees transparency, reviewer independence, and the absence of conflicts of interest.
After the manuscript has been received, the Editorial Staff and the Director read the paper and evaluates the submission. They will make an initial decision as to whether the manuscript is likely to be a candidate for review.
If the manuscript is selected for formal review, the Editorial Staff and the Director select and invite appropriate reviewers, at least two. Reviewers are chosen based on their expertise related to the subject matter.
The peer-review process is double-blind: both reviewers and authors are kept anonymous. After the reviewers have submitted their evaluations, the Editorial Staff and the Director will make a final decision on the manuscript. The Editorial Staff then communicates the decision to the authors (acceptance, invitation to revise, or rejection) and, in the case of acceptance, provides the reviewers’ feedback to help authors address any suggested improvements and modifications.
For articles requiring revision, the Editorial Staff and the Director, taking into account the reviewers' recommendations, may indicate specific sections that need improvements. Every two years, "Studi Politici" publishes a list of the consulted reviewers. The first list was published in issue 2/2024.
