Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to analyse the supernatural forces that make up the tragic actio of Federico García Lorca’s play, Bodas de Sangre. A Nietzschean musical principle and fervently Dionysian spirit runs through the work. A divine and inevitable will permeates the entire drama and the actions of the characters in the tragedy, until it manifests itself, in its telluric power, in the final double murder. The analysis aims to highlight the faults of the characters that lead to the final double punishment: that of Hybris and that of not having honoured the law of genos.
