Abstract

Curiosity of the past and prophecies of the future, one might say of the issue that we reproduce here in part. The case that has caught our attention is that the same issue announces the release of Miguel de Unamuno’s novel Paz en la guerra dedicated to the second or third Carlist war in which the young writer, much influenced by the records of an age that oscillated between puberty and adolescence, was born, and which coincides with the events of the ephemeral Estrella, he tries to oscillate between adherence to the sentiment of a small homeland, even with reminiscences of Basque language, and an attempt at a vision of the future. In fact, it almost coincides with the attitude of the magazine that defends the Catalan identity before ‘Madrit’, but does not adhere to a possible, but not applicable or desirable internationalisation of the unredeemed peoples, from Ireland to Crete. Finally, it is worth mentioning that Carmelo Spadola (University of Salento) is preparing a re-reading of the Unamunian novel.
