The current transition towards a digitally integrated society has introduced new forms of interaction that reshape human experience and subjectivity. Among the factors driving this transformation is gamification, understood as the integration of game mechanics, aesthetics, and logic into non-game contexts such as work, education, warfare, and healthcare. This process is rooted in the concept of habit, which is not merely a “liberating fold of the spirit”, but also risks producing an unreflective mechanization of human experience. While habit enables the conservation of psychic energy, it may simultaneously empty human action of reflective awareness. This contribution investigates the relationship between habit, gamification, and moral identity.
