Abstract

Artificial or intelligent: what image of the human being?
AI is currently reshaping not only human practices and relations, but our very notion of the human being. Such epochal change should push the ethical reflection to challenge the naturalistic and functionalist assumptions underlying the scientistic vision of the human. Even though these assumptions emerge with clarity in post-humanism, they constitute the broader background of modernity. A renewed humanism is needed to defend the dignity and freedom of the human person.
