Abstract

The essay investigates the transcendental nature of Dasein in Sein und Zeit, showing how Heidegger’s Seinsfrage arises from his attempt to rethink the condition of faktische Existenz beyond the limits of Husserlian phenomenology. Despite Heidegger’s intention to overcome the subject–object dichotomy, the author argues that a Cartesian–Husserlian dualistic residue persists within the existential analytic. This ambiguity stems from the double status of Dasein, which moves between the ontological and the ontic dimensions. From this perspective, the ontology is seen as grounded in the ontic, opening the way to a new, historical, and finite form of transcendentalism founded on the facticity of the human being. Thus, Dasein appears as the unconscious instrument of a transformation of the transcendental that anticipates the radical historical turn of the Beiträge zur Philosophie.
