Abstract

If we recall the terms of Hegel’s celebration of Spinoza's conception of infinite as infinite in act, we can see that the reference is explicit: “The infinite is not to be interpreted – Hegel says – in the sense of an indeterminate multiplicity, but in a positive way, as a circle that encloses within itself a perfect infinity”. So, the image of a circular infinite is immediately linked to the idea of a finished perfection, positively set; and it is also linked to both traits of immanence and presence, as we read in another section of the Hegelian Lessons: “absolute infinite is the positive that perfects within itself, in the present, an absolute plurality with no further beyond”.
