Giorgio Agamben and the “objective conspiracy”

  • Francois Rastier

Abstract

In Il Manifesto, Giorgio Agamben, renowned Italian philosopher, published on February 26 a column entitled “Coronavirus and state of emergency” in which he attributed to the CNR (Italian National Research Center) the opinion that the current epidemic was: “A normal flu, little different from those which are repeated each year”. However, while the CNR could say that a good proportion of cases developed symptoms comparable to the flu, it nonetheless stressed that "4% of patients must be hospitalized in intensive care".
