E|C is the journal of the Italian Association for Semiotic Studies. Established in 2005 and directed by Gianfranco Marrone, E|C publishes papers about various fields of structuralist Semiotics produced by international research groups. The mission of E|C is to contribute to the advancement and dissemination of Semiotics as a theory of signification as well as a critique of the languages of contemporaneity. E|C is four-monthly publication. Each number is monographic and presents the results of semiotic analyses of socio-cultural phenomena such as media, use and practices of space, design, gastronomy, tourism, photography, music, or it discusses theoretical/methodological themes such as narrativity, subjectivity, passionality, aesthetics. E|C uses double blind peer review system for all articles it publishes.

E|C is ranked as a class A journal by ANVUR (the Italian National Agency for the Evaluation of Universities and Research Institutes).

E|C accepts original contributions, not previously published or awaiting publication in other journals. Scholars and researchers who want to submit their contribution may do so by responding to the open call for papers (section “Call for papers”) or by sending an e-mail to: redazione.ec.aiss@gmail.com to propose an essay for the Miscellaneous section.
The contribution should be prepared following the editorial guidelines of the journal indicated in the 'for Authors' section.
