How Can Deleuze’s Semiotics Be Recognized?
Abstract
This essay explores Deleuz’s relationship with structural semiotics, arguing that his philosophy remains deeply rooted in the problem of signification. Revisiting his engagement with structuralism, Saussure and Hjelmslev, it highlights both the productive convergence and the enduring tension between Deleuze’s philosophical project and semiotic theory, showing how their proximity is grounded in a shared concern with the symbolic order and the production of sense.
