Tools and ways of semiotic research
Abstract
There would be many important issues to consider, for a reasoning around the most suitable methodological options for Semiotics, especially since these both concern the definition of the scientific status of the discipline and its relationship with other disciplines (whose degree of "affinity" depends moreover from the perspective that is adopted). An effective way to frame at least some of the key issues can refer to two fundamental semantic categories: objective/subjective and general/particular.
