Abstract
This article proposes an introduction to the theme of the long criminal trail that in monotheistic religions is expressed in the evil envy of Cain. In fact in Greek self-awareness, already representing the dawn of tragedy in the double value of genre and theme, reveals the continuity of history. The obsession with evil is in the family and it is an obsession that from the classical world comes almost intact to modernity without losing a point in its useless cruelty
