Abstract

The aim of this essay is to underline the importance of the ‘strong evaluation’ in Charles Taylor’s mature work A Secular Age (2007), despite the fact that this expression finds only two occurrences in the text. Through this, the development and difficulties of this crucial concept in Taylor’s reflection will be traced; and insights will be provided into Taylor’s ambitions in the search for an ontology that forms the basis of a moral realism.
