Traduzioni scozzesi di Leopardi
Keywords:
poetic translations; Scotland; Scots; Gaelic; Scottish Leopardi.Abstract
This article is the first critical study to address the poetic translations of Leopardi into two of Scotland’s official languages: Scots and Gaelic. The presence of distinctive formal devices and intertextual allusions to prominent literary works in both languages supports the claim for the existence of a “Scottish Leopardi” with identifiable stylistic and semantic features.
