Abstract
Psychoanalysis does not have the purpose to heal the patient, but rather to gain knowledge of the unconscious psychic processes. However, the theoretical truth of the analytical constructions is also the necessary condition for the disappearance of the symptoms, although that condition might not suffice. There is a gap between theory and practice. The subject
shows its own inviolability through a resistance to the therapeutical influence. It takes to come up with a pragmatics of truth as the best completion possible of a theory of truth,
so as to extend its effects on the patent’s behavior without violating the subject’s personal freedom. Starting with the Kantian’s distinction of Praktisch and Pragmatisch, a theoretical
definition of pragmatics of truth is proposed. This concept represents a counterargument to the theory of truth found in the philosophies of praxis.
