Abstract

The current essay will try to explain how the structure of the apocalypse is a result of dialectical mediation. The effort will outline that the fundamental ambiguity of the structure of the apocalypse represents a profoundly and intimately dialectical constellation. The results of this brief research will be applied to the theory of music, first by explaining briefly how the way of composing with twelve notes arose out of the tonal system and then by actualizing it for the state of the art nowadays. This may offer the possibility to ask whether the changes constitute a liberation or not, whether there is either something only catastrophic going on or if, on the other hand, it is also about the revelation of something really new taking place. Finally, these constellations may give way to some further brief reflections on a sort of theory of apocalypse, changes, and liberation in a broader way; since theory always, and more or less exclusively, consists only in translation, this essay will try to translate experiences, concepts, logical and none, music and transcendence in order to open up possible new horizons.
