Abstract
This paper tries to articulate a reflection on the bicycle as a machine and on the human-bicycle relationship, drawing on theoretical, anthropological and existential studies. The aim is to explore a possible metaphysics of the cycling experience, first from a technical perspective (the human who, through energy expenditure and effort, achieves fulfillment in hybridization with a machine and the surrounding world, whether anthropized or not) and then as an integrated experience of human-technology-nature, also taking into account major sporting events (the so-called Grand Tours), in which a unification of the various aspects occurs: the human who confronts nature with his own technical means and who integrates with it.
