About the Journal

I.con – International Journal of Image Theory and Practice is a peer-reviewed academic journal dedicated to the interdisciplinary study of images in all their forms. Based at the Academy of Fine Arts in Lecce, I.con was founded as a space for dialogue between critical theory, artistic research, and visual experimentation, with the aim of exploring the role and potential of images in the contemporary world. The journal welcomes original contributions from fields such as philosophy, art history, semiotics, visual studies, photography, design, cinema, visual arts, and new media. Each issue serves as a platform for reflection, where scholars, artists, and researchers can examine the status and transformation of images. I.con thrives on the hybridization of languages and the intersection between theoretical and artistic practices, addressing an international audience of scholars, educators, students, and image professionals
