Scaria e il suo Museo : Una grande sintesi dell’Arte dei Laghi

Abstract

artisti originari della Valle Intelvi attivi nel XVIII secolo: i ritratti realizzati da Carlo Innocenzo Carloni, rappresentanti esponenti della famiglia De Allio e Luraghi, conservati presso il Museo Diocesano di Scaria; la decorazione ad affresco eseguita da membri della famiglia Scotti sulla volta del presbiterio della chiesa parrocchiale di San Lorenzo in Laino, raffigurante il Martirio e la Gloria del santo. Il saggio pone l’accento sull’importanza del lavoro di restauro non solo a fini conservativi, ma anche conoscitivi, rivolti, in particolare, ad indagare la tecnica pittorica degli artisti.

The contribution illustrates two restoration interventions relating to pictorial works by artists from Intelvi Valley active along the XVIIIth century: the portraits painted by Carlo Innocenzo Carloni, representing members of the De Allio and Luraghi families, preserved in the Diocesan Museum of Scaria; the fresco decoration executed by masters of the Scotti dynasty on the vault of the presbytery of the San Lorenzo parish church of Laino, depicting the Martyrdom and Glory of Saint. The paper emphasizes the importance of the restoration work non only for conservation purposes, but also knowledge ones, aimed, in particular, at investigating the artists’ painting technique.
