Résumé

Andrea Luigi Mazzini (1814-1849) is one of the most overlooked figures in nineteenth-century Italian Hegelianism. However, a reassessment of his thought proves fruitful when considered in light of studies on the transnational character of nineteenth-century Hegelianism and Mazzini’s proximity to the Left Hegelians. Against this background, this article examines his aesthetic conceptions from the years 18391845 in relation to their theoretical and philosophical context, as well as to the reception of Hegel’s aesthetics during the Italian Risorgimento.
