Résumé
The article advances some theoretical questions concerning the possibilities and limits of a creativity expressed by AI, with regard in particular to art production. The concept of creativity at stake here has been elaborated by Emilio Garroni, who emphasizes the crucial importance the “metaoperative” element has in the human creativity. The agency of engendering predominantly metaoperative creative processes represents a distinguishing trait of homo sapiens’ evolutionary leap. Garroni focuses on the difference between human animal and non-human species. The article, through a confrontation with other philosophical proposals – among others: Paolo Benanti, Pietro Montani, Carlo Sini and Stefano Velotti – transfers the question of the specificity of human creativity on the field of a comparison with the creative processes controlled by machines. In the final part, the article claims the necessity of replacing the paradigm based on the concurrence between human creativity and non-human (animal and artificial) creativities with a paradigm founded on the integration between the two.
