Abstract
I propose to reflect upon the relationship between artificial intelligence and creativity against the background of a possible epistemology of the latter. First, I introduce the notion of creativity by drawing at least on its essential cornerstones. Second, I introduce the notions of analysis, abstraction and idealisation as the foundation of a possible epistemology of creativity. Third, based on it, I question the relationship between creativity and artificial intelligence. Fourth, I propose to answer that one of the reasons why artificial intelligence cannot be creative is that it lacks the kind of epistemology of creativity described above as analysis, abstraction and, especially, idealisation.
