Abstract

Chemistry, although a fundamental science, is difficult to be taught and to be learned, much more than mathematics and physics. This paper discusses the origin of this difficulty, by describing four examples of the material structure and relating their structure to the chemical properties. They are the Lavoisier law, the atomic structure, the electron motion, the periodic table of Mendeleev. In all these examples the description either in terms of scientific method or of historic development suggests which order should be followed to make the approach to chemistry easier.
