Fra Vico e Cartesio. Un dialogo

Abstract

Genuine cultural dialogue is rare within the world of education, especially across disciplines. Teachers of different subjects seldom engage in meaningful exchanges that go beyond merely didactic concerns in order to move into the realm of shared intellectual inquiry. This text, however, emerged from precisely such a cross-disciplinary dialogue − one which started initially as informal and unplanned − between its authors. Presented here in its original liveliness and spontaneity, the conversation centers not on pedagogical strategies for teaching Vico or Descartes, but on the thinkers themselves. Vico and Descartes are treated as emblematic figures representing two enduring epistemological orientations − one historical-humanistic, the other rational-scientific − that continue to shape contemporary thought. The dialogue reflects a recognized need to bridge these traditions, fostering a renewed integration of cultural perspectives in philosophical discourse.
