Abstract
The article reconstructs the historical and theoretical links between Edmund Husserl and Ernst Cassirer, starting from their correspondence. It then proceeds to analyse the unpublished manuscripts, which reveal that Husserl quoted several passages from some of Cassirer’s historical works, although these quotations do not appear in the editions published in Husserliana. Finally, it reports on Husserl’s readings of Cassirer’s texts based on the volumes in his library and the annotations found therein. From all this, it emerges that Cassirer can reasonably be identified as one of the sources Husserl drew on with regard to the history of philosophy.
