Abstract
To introduce the present issue, the paper indicates some general coordinates concerning the reading of Adorno. Therefore, it highlights that critical theory is a thought that seeks what is potential rather than what is actual. This gives it the critical connotation which, in Adorno, is also asserted in relation to the aesthetic, pushing the aesthetic theory to go beyond the domain of art per se. It is this aspect that makes Adorno’s aesthetic investigation useful also in relation to the current context.
