Abstract

This paper explores Aldo Giorgio Gargani’s thought, highlighting the notion of philosophy’s inherent “aesthetic disposition” and the artisanal character of any conceptual system. Departing from the search for truth as a static object, Gargani proposes instead an approach to philosophy that focuses on the ‘sense of truth,’ which he understands as an intransitive and relational process. This sense emerges from the flow of culture, language, and life, intertwining necessity and possibility. Gargani’s philosophy transcends the dualism between subjectivism and objectivism by rejecting both the isolationist model of knowledge and cultural relativism.
The originality of his position lies in the idea that philosophy, as developed by Wittgenstein and other authors such as Nietzsche, responds to existential and organizational needs that must continually be redefined and reinterpreted. For this reason, philosophy is characterized as a theoretical narrative rather than as a system. For this reason, Gargani’s philosophy is characterized as an open discourse that transcends disciplinary boundaries and encompasses science, the arts, and literature.
